It's been awhile

what I've been up to
I took this photo while I was still in Kalamazoo. It was voted the best picture for the week of Dec. 27-Jan. 3 on msnbc.com "week in pictures". very exciting. It's one of the prettiest photos I have ever taken.

I've been at the Muskegon Chronicle for a little over a month now. I like the people I work with here a lot. In the last month I have really felt happy with the photographer I am becoming. It's a good feeling as I start to look for a job rather than an internship. Here's some of my favorite assignments or cool things I've done.

The Harlem Globetrotters came to town. It was a really fun assignment.

Winter here has been a complete white out for the most part.

Air Jordan baby. haha. I got to photograph Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan's son (he's the one on top incase you didn't know). Michael didn't show up. But it was still pretty cool.

Lake Michigan can be pretty in the winter. A reader is going to make a watercolor of this and give me a copy. I'm excited about it.

At a sledding and snowboarding competition.

I tried uploading more photos but for some reason it wont let me. So, some cool assignments I've done:
-photographing a roller coaster being built at Michigan's Adventure. I don't think I will ever ride it since I watched it be built from scratch.

-I got to go all the way up in the bucket of a fire truck. It was really sweet.

-photographed Darren McCarty when he started playing for the Flint Generals against the Muskegon Fury. and that photo ran in the Free Press.

Overall my stay in Muskegon photography wise has been great. I sure do miss Kalamazoo though.

That damn ice photo is to DIE for. I have taken so many pictures of Grand Haven in the winter, and I have never seen blue sky. Way to go lady!!!
